Our body cream has an unexpected touch, a light, creamy and rich appearance, a fleeting feel (light and thin) and the fragrance is 100% natural and based on essential mandarin oil. The emulsion feels ultra-soft and spreads easily on the skin, which is very important for a body product. These properties can be attributed to the very fine and homogeneous distribution of the oil droplets. The emulsion is homogeneous, with an average droplet size in the range of one micron. Nevertheless, it feels light and cool and offers a melting sensation when the product is applied to the skin; the film residue is fine but noticeable, not greasy and not sticky. The emulsifier in the microemulsion is derived from behenic acid, a saturated fatty acid obtained from the seeds of the native Amazonian tree Pentaclethra macroloba. It has emollient and soothing properties that help restore the skin’s natural oils and improve its overall moisture content. In skin care, behenic acid is mostly used to soothe dry and sensitive skin. These sebaceous fatty acids play a role in maintaining the integrity of the skin barrier, improving moisture retention and increasing the skin’s moisture content.
